A new direction for the blog

I confess that during my journey as a software developer, I've had several blogs, and the most enduring one was the last, which I started in 2018 and remained active until mid-2020. In it, I managed to post more than 30 articles on a variety of topics, such as how to develop mobile applications, how to deal with object-oriented issues, etc.

A little before the coronavirus pandemic truly exploded worldwide, I had perhaps lost the habit of writing anything, and the result was that the blog was abandoned for months when I "forgot" to pay the domain's monthly fee, and I ended up losing the old site domain.

Until then, I had made up my mind that I would not start another blog. However, a few weeks ago, a former colleague contacted me asking for a link to an article I had written about Vim and mentioned that he couldn't find my blog's address anywhere. Given the explanations, this made me reflect:

I really enjoyed the writing process, and it was an opportunity to learn and share with the world the little I know. But does it make sense to have a blog in 2024 with all the content generation tools available? The answer is: perhaps yes. I think now, more than ever, at this moment when I am increasingly immersed in these new AI trends, having a blog, sharing content about my learnings, and showing software developers that it is possible to co-exist and enjoy these new tools is important.

What's coming?

I've decided to reactivate the blog. I managed to recover some of the articles I had posted, but I've chosen to archive others since they are no longer relevant to the current moment (example: outdated technologies).

Although there was a significant effort to keep the blog's official language as Portuguese to share everything I've learned in these last years with my country, I've decided that it currently makes more sense to have the blog entirely in English, which today is considered a universal language.

Going forward, I want to bring content that I believe will stand the test of time. That said, I'll focus more on concepts and thoughts than on how-to tutorials, as technologies become outdated more frequently than ideals.

Disclosure about AI tools

I think it's important to emphasize, and above all, I promise that the ideas I will post here are my own creation and not generated by AI tools. However, I will use these technologies for generating images (such as covers, thumbnails) and also to assist me in text correction and formatting (maybe translations). Nonetheless, all ideas will be mine, and I will try to use my own tone of voice.
